Our Year in review

With few days to end the year 2020, it feels like yesterday when it beckoned on us. This reminds me of the popular phrase ‘time flies’.

2020 has been a year like no other in modern times. We’ve had to deal with COVID-19 which has cost lives and livelihoods as well as plunging many economies into recession. Ghana has had its fair share of the devastating effects of COVID-19. Despite the challenges COVID-19 posed to businesses in Ghana, it also presented opportunities to accelerate growth.

For us at Nationwide, it was a period to reimagine and reinvent our processes and operations and adapt to the new normal, always with you, our stakeholders, at the centre. We were concerned about the health, safety, and wellbeing of our stakeholders as lockdown, social distancing, and compulsory wearing of masks were in full force. We initiated ways through we could support our stakeholders in these times. For instance, we piloted our Telemedicine service [Teleconsult], which sought to provide access to medical care virtually for our subscribers. This was a huge success and we aspire to pursue it to become a viable service for our subscribers and health service providers. Our medicine delivery services also proved to be invaluable during these times. In addition to this, we designed online portals and new features on our mobile applications so that our subscribers and health service providers would continue to engage with us, digitally. This brought us even closer to you.

Of course, there is more work to be done, so we look forward to 2021 with so much excitement. We are determined to do more and better by enhancing our innovation and employing technology to improve the ‘Nationwide’ experience. Our resolve is to remain the benchmark for the private health insurance industry, as has been the case in the past.

Our subscribers have contributed significantly to our success and that is why they are the core of our business. To our healthcare service providers, we appreciate your patience and understanding throughout a trying year. To our Board, Management and staff, we are grateful for direction and tireless dedication and commitment to the ‘Nationwide’ cause and agenda.

We wish to thank you for sticking with Nationwide Medical Insurance and for allowing us to be your healthcare partner. The future looks exciting and full of promise. Do stay with us for the exhilarating journey ahead.

Enjoy your holidays. May the peace and goodwill of the season pervade our hearts and our homes. May God bless and keep us all.

Happy holidays & A Prosperous New Year.
